New Additions to the Peterborough Library Book Collection

Dante's FacesScores of new books have been added to the Library in the past month, so there are many choices for upcoming winter reading by the fire or the wood stove.

Poetry, mystery, and memoir are among the dozens of new adult book options. A particularly intriguing acquisition is Faces from Dante’s Inferno. With the subtitle of “Who they are, what they say, and what it all means,” this book introduces readers to 50 frightening and fascinating faces from Dante’s hell.

GirlWhoSoaredOverFairylandAmong the new young people’s items is The Girl Who Soared Over Fairyland and Cut the Moon in Two, the third in Catherynne Valente’s Fairyland series. This beautiful book is illustrated by Ana Juan, a Spanish artist whose eclectic work has included a Joe Cocker album jacket, a poster for the Tokyo Film Festival, and contributions to a number of international magazines as well as the New Yorker.

Following is a list of the latest additions, or stop by the Library to browse the New Items shelves. Don’t forget you can check the Library’s online catalog from your home computer to see if we have a copy of something you’re looking for. And you can also ask us to order a book for you via InterLibrary Loan (ILL) if we don’t happen to have it on hand. Plenty of options for the avid reader.
