- Library card applications require confirmation of residency. Bring a photo ID. We may also accept a utility bill as proof of residency.
- Children are invited to sign up for their first library card at age 5.
- Library cards are issued to individuals and may not be shared.
- Patrons may authorize other individuals to pick up books on hold.
- Students should show their student ID or other verification of enrollment to PES, SMS, or Conval High
- Library cards are required at check-out.
Library Card Eligibility:
Any Peterborough resident, or non-resident owning taxable real estate in Peterborough, is eligible for a library card free of charge. The following individuals are also eligible for library cards:
- Students enrolled at any public school located within Peterborough
MacDowell colonists, while in residence, shall be issued temporary cards
- Visiting artists at Peterborough Players shall be issued temporary cards
- Any business that owns or rents property in Peterborough may have issued three employee Library cards, with the written permission of the business owner.
Non-Resident Cards:
Non-resident cards are individual cards, with the fee of $68.00. The fee is approved by the Library Trustees, up to but not to exceed the current Peterborough per capita.
