Updated News and Plans for the Grand Opening:

JUNE: outdoor storytime sessions at the Community Center every Tuesday at 10:30am. Register on the library website.

July: We will be OPEN for in-person browsing hours from 10am-6pm, Monday-Friday. Stock up on books to last for the remainder of the summer. Curbside services, virtual drop-in tech help, virtual programs, and public computers will also remain available through the end of July.

August 1st: library services pause. No materials will be available.Public wifi, computer appointments, and printing will remain available as long as possible. After August 1st, hold on to any checked out books and wait to return them in September. Library staff will continue to answer email and phone calls for reference questions and referrals.

On September 12th: Grand Opening Celebrations!! Please stay tuned for more information. We are scheduled to open for regular business on Monday September 13th at 10am!

Details on Curbside Services:

We are offering convenient curbside services. Curbside service is available from 10am-6pm Monday- Friday.
You may place holds as before, by logging in to your account online, searching/browsing the catalog. You may also call us at 924-8040.
Visit the library and retrieve your materials from the outside table from 10am-6pm M-F.

Help with Placing Holds

Placing holds has been simplified. Simply log in to your account, search for an item, and click “Place Hold”. We will notify you when the item is ready.

We are answering the phones M-F from 10am-6pm. Call 924.8040. We are answering emails too at Library @ Whatever it is, we can help point you in the right direction.

Library Cards

We are able to sign people up by phone or please click HERE and complete the application online.  You will receive an email with your card number when it is processed.

If you are a nonresident and would like a Peterborough library card, please also mail the application fee of $68 to the library. We will contact you with your library card information when it is received.

Public Technology is Available

Computer appointments are available Monday-Friday. Please call the library or email us to reserve a one-hour timeslot. Masks are required and will be provided if you need one.

Yes we have wifi in the parking lot at 1 Jaffrey Road in the Monadnock Plaza. Please park in the lined spaces in front of Unit #2. The network and password are posted on the windows.


We are still offering print-on-demand services. If you need a document printed, email us (Library @ and we will print it for you and let you know when it will be available.
