Looking for an item we don’t have in our collection? PTL participates in the Interlibrary Loan program sponsored by the NH State Library.

Lending Policy for Patrons

If you don’t find a book or item in our collection, we can borrow it from another library in our network! Fill out an online request here.

Place a Request:

  • Forms are available at the main desk, or Fill out an online request here.
  • Include title and author with your request, and as much information as you have about the thing you want.

Things to Know:

  • You may place up to 3 requests at a time
  • Items cannot be brand new. We may only borrow items  published more than six months ago.
  • To request a new item published in the last few months, please Fill out an online request here.
  • Requests take 2-4 weeks depending on availability
  • Out-of-State interlibrary loans may not be available. Allow up to 8 weeks for delivery.

Lending Policy for Borrowing Libraries:

For NH Libraries

  • 6-week loan for books, videos and audios.
  • Renewals by email or phone.
  • New materials loaned, with exceptions, sometimes with short loan period and no renewal.
  • Holds allowed, but for new materials libraries are kept at end of waiting list.

For Non-NH Libraries

  • No charge for any loan; borrower pays return postage only.
  • 6-week loan period for all materials.
  • No new materials.
  • Requests accepted by email or phone.
