Artist of the month: Becky D. Sakellariou
This months exhibit features a collection of poems by local author Becky D. Sakellariou who spends her time living in two worlds, Peterborough, NH and Euboia, Greece. The library will host a reception for Becky on Thursday, March 8th from 6-8pm.
This exhibit entitled, “…still awaiting the fire” will feature a number of poems printed for viewing, one large instillation piece covering an entire wall of the library, and pocket poems to take with you.
Born in Boston and raised in the region of New England, Becky has lived most of her adult life in Greece. Over the past ten years and with the arrival of three grandchildren, she is finding herself spending more of her time here in Peterborough.
With a BA in Literature and a MEd in Cross-Cultural Education, Becky has worked as a teacher, writer, editor, and counsellor in Albania, Bulgaria and Greece. Over the past twenty-five years Becky has published poetry in many journals as well as six full-length books all of which are available in the library collection and at the Toadstool Bookstore for purchase.
Becky’s exhibit will be up through the month of March and available to view during regular library hours.
