Peterborough resident, Jennifer Field, will present her book, From Blue Ribbon to Code Blue: a Girl’s Courage, Her Mother’s Love, a Miracle Recovery, at the Peterborough Town Library on Tuesday, October 18, 7:00 P.M.
Jennifer was an accomplished equestrian, collecting top prizes at competitions throughout the United States and Canada when a car accident ended her Olympic dreams, and nearly ended her life when she was just 17.
As the teen lay in a coma, doctors told her mother that the girl would never walk or talk again; accept it. But Joanne Field refused to give up on her daughter, and sought out treatment after treatment, many of them experimental. “Maybe I was living in false hope,” Joanne Field said, “but it paid off.”
Since her accident, Field has graduated college with honors, become an inspirational keynote speaker, and founded the J. Field Foundation to support individuals with traumatic brain injuries. Whatever your challenges, “Never say never,” Jennifer said. “Don’t be discourage, keep moving forward. I did it one baby step at a time, and I keep at it.”
Field’s talk will be followed by a book sale and signing. Co-authored with her mother, the memoir is the story of Jennifer’s journey from determined equestrian, to trauma patient, to world-class survivor. It is a tribute to the human spirit and the power of love.
The event is free and open to the public.

What reader’s are saying:
Jennifer Field is an incredibly resilient and driven young woman. I’m convinced that every time she hears “no”, or why or how something can’t be done, she becomes more determined to prove everyone wrong. Her (story is) even more engaging, interesting, hysterical, sad, inspiring if you invite her to tell it to you in person!”
-Davin Nour, international speaker, and CEO, The Nour Group, Inc.
