Kids!

At the Peterborough Town Library we introduce children to stories, to each other, and to the world!

Our programs cultivate curiosity, build imaginations, and bolster early literacy skills.
This helps kids grow into lifelong learners!

We do this by living and modeling our mantra:

"Write, talk, read, sing, and play - every day!"

Storytimes and Book Clubs!

Storytime is more than just developing a love of stories. By attending, children become more comfortable and excited about visiting the library. We encourage early reading habits for the whole family and strive to give parents the tools they need to help their children learn and discover. We also stress the importance of fine motor skills and physical development.
We invite all families to join us in sharing our love of imagination and reading at one of our many storytimes!

Program Descriptions:

Baby Storytime

Babies and their caregivers gather to sing songs, chant nursery rhymes, read board books and enjoy lap bounces. Babies from birth and beyond are welcome— only when they are ready to sit for longer stories have they outgrown baby storytime!

Preschool Storytime

At storytime this group enjoys picturebooks together and simple songs and movement between stories. An easy craft is completed after each storytime. All preschoolers who enjoy sitting and listening to stories, and their caregivers, are welcome (siblings too).

PJ Storytime

PJ Storytime will take place once a month. We read stories, sing a few songs, and will maybe offer a craft or snack to take home. PJ Storytime is for all ages but best for Preschool through Elementary School aged children.

Families Read Together
Book Club

Our book group for 1st-4th graders! Read a book together as a family and meet once a month to talk about the book, have snacks, and participate in activities like crafts and games. Scroll down for more information!

Pizza & Pages
