Big Kid Storytime at 4:00pm

Home / Events / Big Kid Storytime at 4:00pm
April 14, 2017 - April 21, 2017

March 17, 24, and 31st, and April 7, 14, and 21st

Big Kid Storytime is for kids who are in kindergarten and gradeschool.  We read longer fairy tales and folktales, funny books and longer stories, and work on a craft each session.

Storytime is offered in blocks with 2-3 week breaks in between.

Please note, we do not have a strict age requirement, as all children’s attention spans vary.  Questions?  Call Children’s Librarian Lisa Bearce at 924.8040.

Storytime is more than just developing a love of stories.  By attending, children become more comfortable and excited about visiting the library.  We encourage early reading habits for the whole family and strive to give parents the tools they need to help their children learn and discover.  We also stress the importance of fine motor skills and physical development.  Crafts, manipulative toys, and movement are integrated into our curriculum.  For our winter ‘be an animal’ session we will read a variety of stories each week in addition to focusing on different animals each week.  We invite all families to join us while we ‘Talk, Read, Sing and Play—Every Day!’
