Presented by Melissa Brooks of The Mariposa Museum
This fun and educational program will consist of games which can be played by children and adults. We have the game of Nim from China, Mancala from Africa considered by most anthropologists as the world’s oldest game, Nine Men’s Morris from Egypt that dates back to 1400 B.C. to an ancient Egyptian temple, Wari, a game thousands of years old and similar to Mancala from Africa, and many more!
We also have Tangram for younger children which is a puzzle game said to have been invented in China and brought over to Europe on trading vessels during the 19th century.
Enjoy a short presentation and then have a chance to PLAY! There will be games for every age!
