Programs for Teens and Tweens
Pizza and Pages – Book Group
Pizza & Pages meets at 3:45 pm on the third Thursday of the month. Copies of the current discussion book are available to sign out at Lisa Bearce’s desk. We act silly, talk books, and we eat pizza. New members always welcome! Stop by to talk to Lisa B. or Aimee and we’ll give you scoop!
Teen Advisory Group (TAG)
What is TAG?
A group of teens (age 12-18) who are interested in becoming more involved in their community and the library. Teens work with the Library Assistant to Youth Services (Aimee) and Children’s Librarian (Lisa B.) to decide exactly what their group would like to do.
TAG will hold monthly meetings to discuss possible programs – we will meet on the Second Monday of each month.
What do you get out of it?
As a member of TAG you get to have a say in the materials and programs for teens at the Peterborough Town Library. You will have the opportunity to be creative and expressive through art and imaginative activities and gain the personal satisfaction in serving your community and peers! TAG also looks great on job applications, college applications, and is a wonderful way to give back to your community – you may also be able to count TAG events as volunteer hours.
Things TAG members will do:
Give input on the YA collection at the library – recommend books, movies, and magazines
Influence how the library serves teens
Plan and host events for teens and kids
Ideas of things TAG can do:
Contribute to blogs or other library publications
Make displays in the library
Decorate the library for holidays/seasonally
Give “behind-the-scenes” tours to younger library users
Volunteer at other events at the library (not just teen events)
Seek out service opportunities in the community
